How many Windows 7 licenses?
Life used to be simple with Windows XP. You had Home or Professional and the descriptions pretty much said it all. Apart from the odd irritation when we’d come up with a solution for a problem with XP that only worked on Pro ( Group Policy Editor mostly ), it was simple and it worked. And I never had a problem knowing which to recommend.
Then came Vista and life got more complicated. From the point of view of the home user (step forward the Aged Ps) there was a choice between Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate. Ultimate could safely be recommended to enthusiasts but what about the other two. Having used Ultimate for a year, I was pleasantly surprised at how I didn’t mind that much moving to Basic*.
There were some hopes that Windows 7 would return to a simpler path, but according to Engadget, that isn’t going to happen. There’ll still be a Home Basic, Premium and Ultimate. The Starter version probably won’t be available over here in the UK, although it might have some advantages.
* Well alright, I really miss the handwriting recognition right now and the backup situation is a nagging worry. Aero Glass doesn’t bother me, I boot into Ubuntu for a cool, arty desktop(note transparent task bars, and the 3D efforts not visible). In fairness I could probably get Vista Basic looking as good, but it feels like too much effort.

Theres an ultimate version of xp that is made for specific customers. I have been debating whether to keep my dell running xp professional or purchase a version running vista. Which of the three version would be best, or should I wait for windows 7 to come out?

I almost went to install the Windows 7 Beta version as I recently had to reinstall my Win XP os but decided against it. It will stop working around July unless you purchase a full version.

I have mixed feeling about these different versions. It appears that there are essentially only two version of Windows 7 that most consumers will consider. However, it still just seems confusing to me to have so many different versions of Windows. Frankly, I'd like to see just one, but I doubt that will happen!

Online shopping is the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the Internet. An online shop, eshop, e-store, internet shop, webshop, webstore, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping mall.
The metaphor of an online catalog is also used, by analogy with mail order catalogs. All types of stores have retail web sites, including those that do and do not also have physical storefronts and paper catalogs.
Online shopping is a type of electronic commerce used for business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions. One of the best, easiet & trusted online shop is EZYSHOP2U. Visit Us Now!

Bott reports that the EULA ends with an revision ID - EULAID:Win7_B.1_PRO_NRL_en-US which confirms that this leaked build is indeed beta 1. But no one from Microsoft is ready to confirm whether this build is indeed the beta 1 .

I can only hope that Windows 7 will have improved and more user-friendly search function than Vista. I have over 7 millions of files on my HD and Vista can't handle searching them well. The results are always not what I expect them to be. I end up searching for my files manually. Also the constant clicking of indexing service drives me nuts.

I don't mind the Vista Premium, but for speed and gaming I rather the XP.
