So it seems that there have not been any magical solutions for the various Service Pack 3 problems. The Inquirer are reporting that HP has told owners of AMD computers not to install Service Pack 3 yet.

One helpful Microsoft MVP has come up with some advice and some ideas for fixing the problems. I'm not normally one for recommending something I haven't tried but there is a wealth of information on this post so it is certainly worth a read, assuming you can find a computer connected to the web that is. And make sure that the suggestions are for the correct make of computer. This is not an area to make mistakes in.
