Calls for more details on Windows 7
Mary Jo Foley on the All About Microsoft Blog has pointed out that, with only a couple of years until the planned release date of Windows 7, there are still very few details around of what form it will take. Certainly far less information than we had about Vista.
One of the big worries about this, and I agree with Mary on this one, is that it won't leave developers much time to make sure their hardware and software will work by the time this version of Windows is launched. This is far and away the biggest complaint we hear from readers. Sometimes products are considered too old to be updated but this runs the risk of repeating the 'waiting for service pack 1' attitude that greeted Vista.
