Vista Service Pack 1
It's finally here. Well, sort of. It's been released to manufacture, so it's considered done but it will appear in Windows Update in mid-March as an optional update. By mid-April it will be included with automatically downloaded updates.
Reassuringly the announcement on the Vista Team Blog, says that SP1 will check to make sure that it is compatible with all the drivers on the computer. Should there be a potential problem, it will not install.
Given the potential problems of truculent drivers, this sounds like a good idea. How many drivers will block the install of SP1 will be the $64,000 question.
Now, where's SP3 for XP?
