RIP Netscape Navigator

It's sad to see the end of such a significant piece of software. Although it lives on thanks to Firefox, AOL will not be working on Netscape Navigator any more. With security in mind that means the end of Navigator as a browser.

Back in its heyday it was more popular than Internet Explorer and was the browser of choice when I was at university. It also had a decent email client and then a web editor and instant messaging software too.

Of course, I suppose I'm part of the problem because I haven't used Navigator for years.

If you want to find out what all the fuss is about, Navigator will still get security updates until the end of February. Or you could install the Navigator theme and add-ons for Firefox.
