Update: Creative's product registration still sucks, but at least it isn't bugging me any more
A bit of rummaging around on the Creative site has now turned up this help file *this* helpfile - they moved the URL - for people who are plagued by Creative's product registration problem. Don't bother with bashing in the command line fix, it's far easier finding the offending file - InetReg.exe - and renaming it InetReg.exe.BAK. This kills the annoying popups, and then you can delete the dratted software.
I chose to delete the entire Creative directory, as I'm not using any other of Creative's products at present. However, if you suffer from a similar problem as mine, then you may not have the satisfaction of doing this - it seems that Creative doesn't make its drivers freely downloadable. It'd be great if Creative changed this to be a bit more, well, sensible and make the lives of its customers a bit easier. How about it, Creative?

Its so annoying yet funny that the header of the registration thing shows "gentle reminder" whats gentle about this. Its clearly annoying, intrusive and deliberate. I bought a zen becuase i didnt want to get caught up in the hype of ipods yet the thanks for it is to deliberatly annoy me with this pop up that wont go away till i register. Well they can F off cause there not getting my details so they can spam me with useless tripe every few days. I dont need adverts to decide if i want to buy something... word of mouth and my own searching does it for me. Infact the more i get a product whored in my face the less likely i will buy it.

The 4GB froze on me yesterday after 3 months use. It went back to the store, the software was deleted and now the freakin stupid friendly reminder is gone. That's the last time for that brand.

That was soooo annoying, Zen Plus has got to be the worst product I have ever owned and that's mostly because of the pop- up, if I could see anything useful in that piddly black screen and harsh earplugs it was soon demolished with that ridiculous pop-up. Thank you v.m for providing a solution to this hidious problem. Really pee'd off x customer
